Help for Ballard

Elvis Ballard is a great entertainer and he is my friend. Ballard was my replacement at my Elvis Pub in Pattaya from 2001 till 2003 when I was away and performing on Koh Samui. He always did a fantastic Job and the audience loved him. About two weeks ago I got an email from my friend Mr. Ib Ottesen who brought me terrible news about Ballard:

(This is an email from Mr. Ib Ottesen,owner of the Jomtien Boathouse where Ballard sang for years.)

“Over the past year Elvis Ballard has been loosing weight, but put it down to late nights, drinks and not enough sleep. Middle of March he lost his voice, due to a cold.. he thought. April he went to the hospital where they found a lump in his throat and apparently in his lung also. Test results came back that he was indeed stricken with cancer. He came to see me 14 days ago and I hardly recognized him. He started chemo treatment on 6th May and we all cross fingers for him to beat the cancer.”

At the moment Mr. Ottesen and I are working on a charity “ELVIS SHOW” concert in Pattaya for Ballard. The money raised will be used for his family and daughter’s education. Ballard needs help; all donations will be greatly appreciated. Mr. Ottesen will make sure the money gets to Ballard, and will also make sure that Ballard knows who made the contribution. As many of you know Ritchie Newton has devoted many hours to charity concerts during his career. While he has been very generous with his time in the past, Ritchie plans to expand the number of benefit performances.
Ritchie has performed free of charge for many concerts raising millions of Thai Baht for such noble causes as support for; Tsunami victims, children with AIDS , Orphan Children, Temple Schools and many more. Ritchie has tried to make himself available for most worthy causes when called on to do so.
“Help Ritchie Help” will be a project where Ritchie will schedule a monthly charity concert so he can give back to the community. Previous charity concerts have been directed at the Thai population. Future charity concerts will address the needs of both foreigners and Thais in Thailand.
Ritchie is in the process of planning a concert to offer support and aid to those incarcerated in the Thai prison system.
